We have a Norwegian Elkhound (8 months old) that will NOT stay home! She just wants to be around people. Does anyone know of a wireless invisible fence that will work with a sloped lot. Thought about the underground fence but have heard others voice complaints of "varmints" chewing them and then they have to be replaced.
I neglected to mention that I have the pup in a pen for her safety and the safety of others. I would like to ask that responders keep their answers to helpful information!
Telling me that "ALL those POS "invisible" fences are EXPENSIVE & utterly USELESS *&* DANGEROUS CRAP!!" is considered abuse of this helpful answer board thta yahoo has set up for people!

I want to get a dog, I'm coming up with many solutions for my parents reasoning against it. I proabably wouldnt get the dog until fall but I want to show them that I care enough to research about it. My unfenced yard is a big problem. I am planning on getting a summer job and I would have to pay for the invisible fence. I would want it around my yard and in some parts of my house. I looked at a website and they said nothing about price, because they wanted you to make a consultation appt. I dont want to make an appt yet because I dont even have the dog. Does anybody know how much it costs or do you have one and know it works good?(O, and BTW, I'm planning on getting a German Shephard and I have a semi-small backyard)

I'm renting a duplex, and need to install an invisible fence for my dog, who is a dachshund/Jack Russell cross. Has anyone had experience doing this, and if so, how hard and what kind of tools are need to put in the fence? Thanks in advance!
